Expected use
Rubella IgG or IgMELISA is designed for use in the detection of IgG or IgM antibodies against rubella virus in human serum or plasma.
Summary and explanation
The purified ds-DNA antigen is coated onto the surface of the microwells. Patient serum or plasma is added to the wells and the ds-DNA antibody, if present, binds to the antigen during incubation. After washing the wells to remove unbound sample, the HRP-conjugated human antibody is added.
Unbound conjugate is removed by a subsequent wash step. A TMB reagent solution is then added to the microwells. The catalytic reaction of the enzyme conjugate stops at a special time. The intensity of the color generated is proportional to the amount of ds-DNA antibody in the sample.
